海通证券股份有限公司成立于1988年，前身是上海海通证券公司，是我国早成立的证券公司之一。公司现有6家子公司、10家分公司，188家证券营业部分布在全国118个城市，客户总数达300万，2010年底公司总资产1160.74亿元，净资产444.64亿元。与成立之初只有13名员工相比，今天的海通是一个由91名博士、1175名硕士和6000名学士等共近万名员工组成的国内的投资银行。
